Sandy and Jerry Hiatt

Jerry and Sandy Hiatt of North Ogden celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house on Saturday, July 6, in South Ogden.
They were married on Feb. 8, 1963, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Los Angeles Temple.
Born in Garfield, he is the son of Mark Bryant and Mabel Jane Hiatt.
He attended Cyprus High School, served a mission in Liverpool, England, served in the Air Force, and worked at the Smart & Final Grocery warehouse in Los Angeles. While in California, he devoted many years to the Grand Land Singers as a sound technician and young adult advisor. When he moved his family back to Utah, he worked in the aerospace industry. Since his retirement, he spends most of his time doting on his wife and family.
Born in Inglewood, Calif., she is the daughter of Theodore and Alta Baldwin.
She attended Paramount High School and earned a nursing degree while raising her children. She spent many years with the Grand Land Singers, and sang the national anthem solo for former U.S. President Richard M. Nixon. She has worked in newborn intensive care units in Northern Utah for more than 20 years, receiving the gratitude of countless parents.
Their children and spouses are Gene and Shantal Sessions, South Ogden; Bryan and Starr Hiatt, Frederick, Md.; Erin Hiatt, New York City; Bryan and Juli Caldwell, Syracuse; Mike and Keli Anderson, Syracuse; Jarrod and Sarah Hiatt, North Ogden; and Kevin and Kelli Hiatt, North Ogden.
They have 12 grandchildren.
