I read the letter of June 9, "Vote 'no' on library bond; create trust fund instead." The writer gave quite and clear and understandable explanation for his 'no vote' and his reason for appealing to all registered Weber County voters to vote 'no.' That letter concluded with a statement which read: "People without common sense will vote 'yes.'"
Well, I voted 'yes,' and my reason for doing so is because the library building needs repairs. The library is a necessary institution and it's very important that the building be kept intact. Surely there must be lots of common sense in voting 'yes' when the building must be repaired.
As one who voted 'yes,' I don't appreciate being referred to as having no common sense. And, what if it means higher taxes? The I'd say it's worth it.
The only people who have to worry about the tax money are the people who must direct the spending thereof.
