Don Hackman passed away on June 16, 2013, at his home. James Donald Hackman was born on April 24, 1936, in Ogden, Utah, the only child of Carl Alma and Margaret Guild Hackman. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed snowmobiling, his cabin in the Uintas, boating, and four-wheeling. Don was an active member of the Moab Red Rock Jeep Association, but his true passion was flying his own airplane. He traveled extensively abroad and within the U.S., often flying his airplane to Mexico. In his younger years, he kept horses and competed in chariot races, winning several trophies. He collected guns, coins and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents and his only child, daughter Heidi Lin Hackman Einwechter. He is survived by one granddaughter, Kaila Marie Goff, Portland, Ore., several close cousins, and many friends. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at the Evanston Cemetery, 526 County Road, Evanston, Wyo.
