OGDEN -- A motorcyclist was hospitalized Wednesday after failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
Ogden Police Lt. Tony Fox said the motorcyclist, a man about 50 years old, was riding a Harley-Davidson south on Washington Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. As he tried to turn left onto Cross Street, he failed to yield to a black sport utility vehicle in the inner northbound lane and hit the SUV.
The man, whose name was not released, was taken by ambulance to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden with head injuries, Fox said, but his exact condition was not known. The lone occupant of the SUV, a 32-year-old man, was uninjured.
Fox said charges against the motorcyclist are pending an investigation, which will include a toxicology report to determine if the man was impaired.
Northbound traffic on Washington Boulevard was closed while police were on scene.
