SALT LAKE CITY -- Police have charged a man they say fired at officers with a bow and arrow with attempted murder.
Police went to a house near the town of Tabiona on calls that 47-year-old Michael Weaver was making threats.
Duchesne County prosecutor Anthony Wilcox says Weaver pulled out a knife and officers called for backup. A standoff ensued, and Weaver grabbed a bow and began shooting arrows at the officers.
Wilcox says officers arrested Weaver before he hit any of them.
He was taken to a hospital, where he pulled an intravenous tube from himself and threw blood at officers guarding him. Wilcox says he also tried to grab the officer's gun.
Weaver was also arrested earlier this month on suspicion of charges of aggravated assault.
