WEST HAVEN -- A 17-year-old girl walked away from an auto-pedestrian accident Friday with minor injuries.
The girl was riding her bike northbound on 3500 West and not paying attention to the stop sign at 3300 South.
She did not stop at the intersection and was not aware of oncoming traffic.
A truck driver towing a horse trailer was traveling westbound and saw the bicyclist just in time to swerve away.
The truck hit the bike's back wheel and sent the girl off road into some weeds.
The girl was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
"She's very lucky," said Sgt. Mike Strecker, of the Weber County Sheriff's Office. It could have been a lot worse, he said.
