Ronald D. Olsen passed away July 12, 2013. He was born in Burlington, WY on May 25, 1933 to Delbert and Lydia Olsen; the fifth of seven children. He worked as a master mechanic for 15 years at Great Western Sugar Company and 26 years at Great Salt Lake Mineral and Chemical Corporation, where he was promoted to serve as an engineer because of his skill and expertise and retired as the plant engineer.
He married his sweetheart, Yvonne, on January 26, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. After retiring, he served two LDS service missions with his wife at the Ogden LDS Cannery. They lived, worked and loved side by side for 60 years.
He is survived by his wife; sisters, Ina and Vicki; a brother, Delbert and honorary brother, Keith Lund. His posterity and the delight of his life include his sons, Jerry (AnnaLee), Dennis (DeAnn), David (Kim) and Jeffrey (Becky); his daughter, JoyDean(Larry); 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Sincere thanks to his hospice nurses, Heidi and Stacey, the Visiting Angels, Yvonne and Zana and loving friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Plain City 4 th Ward, 2235 North 4350 West. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
