Anna Marie Johnson Asay celebrated her 80th birthday on Feb. 4. She, her children, her grandchildren and spouses went on a family cruise to the eastern Caribbean, where many good memories were made. Friends and family are welcome to attend an open house in her honor from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 20 at her home. No gifts. In case of inclement weather, it will be held at the LDS church building, 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1933, in Lovell, Wyo., to Ira and Dagmar Johnson. She had six older brothers and a younger sister. She moved to Salt Lake City, where she met and married the love of her life Richard Aaron Asay. They were married on Feb. 19, 1954, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Brigham City. Their three children and spouses are Jolee and Randy Thompson, Alan and Jan Asay, and Cinde and John Ragona. She has 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She graduated from beauty school and has enjoyed many interesting jobs in her spare time.
She is an avid seamstress, knitter and quilter. She has enjoyed traveling. She and her late husband traveled extensively, sharing the pleasure with family and friends.
