WEST JORDAN -- Police continue to investigate the discovery of a homemade explosive device that prompted the evacuation of three local homes over the weekend.
Officer Ian Adams says authorities responded to the home on Targhee Drive Saturday night when the homeowner called for assistance after evicting the residents who had been renting the home.
Adams told the Deseret News officers found the small explosive device along with a small amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
He says the state bomb task force responded and three homes were evacuated as a safety precaution while a bomb squad used a robot to disarm the device.
Adams says they are working with the homeowner to try to identify who had been in the house.
