PROVO -- The Utah County Sheriff's Department is offering a $5,000 reward for information about the death of a 17-year-old boy whose body was found lying on Interstate 15 early Saturday after having been hit by a vehicle.
Deputies say Nathan Haun of Spanish Fork had been at a party on Friday with other minors where alcohol was present.
Investigators don't know if Haun was hit purposely or accidently but say they have little information.
Sgt. Spencer Cannon says teens at the party may be afraid to speak to police because they may have been drinking alcohol at the party.
Cannon says investigators believe the driver who struck Nathan must have known they hit someone judging by the boy's injuries.
The Deseret News reports family members held a vigil Tuesday to remember the teenager.
