RSL success on several levels
While Real Salt Lake may be the hottest pro soccer team around, its youth academy teams are doing just as well.
The 2012-13 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals Week will wrap up today in Houston with two age group championships.
The U-15/16 final features Real Salt Lake AZ -- which includes several Top of Utah youngsters -- and Solar Chelsea SC, as RSL makes its first finals appearance.
Earlier this season, A's ballplayer Josh Donaldson knocked a home run through Overstock.com's "O" logo at the O.co Stadium in Oakland, Calif.
That's a big deal because normally -- had the home run occurred in a game -- the feat would have won a random fan $10,000.
But it was the A's pre-game batting practice.
But that didn't stop Overstock from dishing out the cash anyway. Instead of throwing the money at a lucky individual, the Utah-based company awarded it to the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps soldiers who have been wounded in combat.
Now that's follow through.
