OGDEN -- A fire in the basement of a house Saturday caused substantial damage and left the family that lived there without a home.
A news release from the Ogden City Fire Department said crews arrived at the fire, at 268 36th St., around 10:50 a.m. and extinguished the fire within about 10 minutes.
Each of the six people living in the home made it out OK, but crews estimated the damage of the fire at $40,000, according to the release.
The family, which is receiving help from the Utah Red Cross, will be staying with relatives.
A child playing with a lighter caused the fire, according to the release.
