Teams from Ogden Fire Department and Weber Fire District responded and were able to control both fires within 30 minutes.
The on-ramp to northbound I-15 at 31st Street was closed while emergency workers extingushed the smoldering grass that bordered the interstate.
No structures were in danger at 31st Street; however, the fire at 24th Street burned along a chain-link fence near several industrial buildings.
There were no reported injuries as of 6:30 p.m.
It is unknown what started the fires or if they were connected.
