Hot films, Fourth of July, trying out yoga

Hot movies, a holiday that celebrates the best of summer and a new exercise sensation are the topics for our latest installment of Trending With TX.

Screen hits

"White House Down" is incredibly gripping. With the gorgeous Channing Tatum taking the main role, who wouldn't keep focused?

This movie is quite fast-paced and completely thrilling. The relationship between Channing and his daughter (Joey King) is adorable, which really adds to the intensity of this PG-13 movie. Jamie Foxx adds some comedy to the mix in his role as the president, wrapping it all up into one good solid film.

Another fun summer hit is "The Heat," a hilarious mix of Sandra Bullock's best comedy with the antics of her partner Melissa McCarthy. If you want to see something that will keep you upbeat and laughing, I would highly recommend "The Heat."

Yankee Doodle Day

Something about the parades and the barbecues and the fireworks mean the Fourth of July has always been one of my favorite holidays.

My family and I usually wake up early and travel down to Provo to visit my grandparents and to watch -- usually, unless the weather is bad --hot air balloons be blown up and start to float away. Then, we get seats at the Provo parade -- sometimes, it requires sleeping overnight to get a good spot -- and afterward we do something to pass the time until dinner. This year we went to see a movie.

Finally, we have a barbecue, which is my favorite part of the day, because who doesn't love hamburgers and hot dogs? We then watch the Stadium of Fire's fireworks from my grandparents' backyard, which has a perfect view.

For me, the Fourth of July really can't get any better than that.
