Hugh and Kathleen Hadley

Hugh and Kathleen Hadley of Washington Terrace will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 25. They were married July 25, 1963, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1939, to Percy W. and Arvilla Fuller Hadley. She was born July 3, 1941, in Wakefield, Neb., to Nels Nathanial and Lena Dean Johnson Nelson.
He served an LDS mission to Brazil. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for about a year and attended Weber State College part time. There he met his future wife at the LDS Institute. She worked in the registrar’s office. He received a bachelor’s degree in business management.
She attended Weber State College and Utah State University. She also worked in the registrar’s office at Weber State in 1960 and continued to work there until the couple had their first child.
They have two daughters: Angela Cherise Hadley and Marcee Suszette Morgan. They also have three granddaughters, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
He served in two bishoprics, as a high priests group leader, on stake high councils and as a stake executive secretary. She has been in Young Women presidencies, Relief Society president, and ward librarian, setting up the library for the newly formed Washington Terrace 10th Ward in 1976.
They served twice in the Ogden Temple. The first was interrupted while they served in the Sao Paulo Temple. They returned to serve in the Ogden Temple.
They have enjoyed RVing out of state, but mostly camping to North Fork and South Fork campgrounds. They have also gone on some cruises with family and friends.
