SALT LAKE CITY -- Kole Calhoun drove home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Salt Lake Bees a 4-3 win over the Fresno Grizzlies on Wednesday night in PCL play at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
Drew Heid led off the inning with a triple to right field. After the next two batters struck out, Calhoun lined the first pitch from Fresno's Heath Hembree into right center field for the game-ending single.
Jeremy Berg (4-0) struck out the only batter he faced to close out the top of the ninth and pick up the victory. Starter Matt Shoemaker went seven innings and allowed three runs on seven hits. Chris Nelson had two hits, including a home run, and one run batted in, while Calhoun added two hits and one RBI. Matt Long also hit a solo home run for the Bees, who earned their fifth consecutive victory.
