CLINTON - Donald Dean Miller, 82, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2013 at Country Pines Assisted Living in Clinton. Don known to his nieces and nephews as Uncle Dee was very loved by his friends and family.
He was born on June 13, 1931 in Decatur, IL to Louis Herbert Miller Sr. and Olga Eaton Miller.
He attended school in Decatur and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a medic.
He was a member of Saint Paul's Methodist Church. He worked in retail sales and later in life at Pride Cleaners and Laundry.
Don enjoyed playing tennis and dancing, he especially liked spending time with his friends and family.
Don is survived by his sister Donna (Bolt) Wilson of Roy, UT; his sister-in-law June Miller of Decatur, IL; nieces Sherry (David) Shoot of Decatur, IL; Dawn (Donald) Ventrone of Goodyear, AZ; Linda (Greg) Challinor of Orofino, ID; nephews Ronald (Gwen) Miller of Decatur, IL; Russell (Merry) Paceley, Bozeman, MT; David (Jamie) Paceley, Gilbert, AZ; 12 great-nieces and nephews and eight great-great-nieces, two great-great-nephews, and cousins.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, brother Louis Miller Jr., uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Mount Gilead Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 North Monroe, Decatur, IL.
