SALT LAKE CITY -- Records show Utah courts granted fewer divorces in 2012 compared with a year earlier.
Data collected by The Salt Lake Tribune's data website, UtahsRight.com, showed state courts issued 9,760 divorce decrees in 2012. That's down a little more than 1,400 from 2011.
The 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City handled the most divorces and granted nearly 3,000 of them in 2012. That's about one-third the number of divorces statewide.
Provo's 4th District Court came in second, with just more 1,400 divorces last year.
The 6th District Court in Loa issued the fewest divorces, with only four granted in 2012.
