VEYO -- A lightning-caused fire in southern Utah is encroaching on power lines and several buildings.
The Spectrum of St. George reports that the fire was discovered Thursday afternoon near the town of Veyo about 260 miles southwest of Salt Lake City.
Fire officials say the fire is about 430 acres as of Friday morning. It is threatening four outbuildings and one power line and substation.
The Cinder Pit Fire is burning pinyon, juniper and brush. Thunderstorms and winds with downdrafts are possible Friday.
So far, no containment has been made of the fire.
There have no injuries or evacuations, but officials are telling people to drive with caution along a stretch of State Route 18 in the area.
