Francine Spendlove Johnson of Warren celebrated her 80th birthday with her family.
She was born on July 23, 1933, in Ogden at Dee Hospital to Joseph Dewey and Alta Spendlove. The oldest of eight children, she was raised in Morgan and Brigham City. She attended Box Elder High School. She married DeVerl Hansen Johnson on Sept. 11, 1959, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. He died in 1995.
As a young woman, she worked at the Cooley Memorial Hospital preparing menus and meals. Later she worked in the school lunch program in Weber School District at North Ogden Junior High School for four years and Wahlquist Junior High School for 14 years.
She has served in many callings in her LDS ward and stake. She also served as an LDS temple worker in the Ogden Temple. She is an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and enjoys reading, crocheting afghans, tying quilts, baking, gardening and caring for her family and friends.
Her family says she continues to be the life of the family, and they are thankful for her thoughtfulness and example. Her children and their spouses are Dee and Karen Johnson, Paul Johnson (deceased), Peter and Marla Fawson, Bryan and Robyn Johnson, Keith and Lyn Johnson, Gregory Thomas Johnson (deceased), and Ron and Michelle Johnson. She also has 32 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
