With summer being halfway over, and with the temperatures as high as ever, is it time for an escape?

Most outdoor water parks are open until Labor Day, so we have a few weeks left to visit them. And some of our TX.ers decided to make your choices easier by rating some of the Top of Utah's dampest seasonal attractions.

We recently spent time at Cherry Hill in Kaysville, Lagoon-A-Beach at Lagoon in Farmington, the Roy Aquatic Center in Roy and Seven Peaks in Provo.

So bring friends and family, and enjoy yourself a nice day at the water park while you still can.

1. What is your favorite thing about this water park?

Cherry Hill -- "My favorite thing about Cherry Hill are the rides, of course! They're so fun to go on, and it's always really easy to go again. There aren't a ton of long lines to wait in."

-- Olivia Andrus, Ogden High

Seven Peaks -- "My favorite thing was the variety of the slides and attractions they have. Some water parks, only adults can go on the slides because they are too big for the children, but Seven Peaks has slides that everyone can enjoy."

-- Krystal Ruiz, Weber High

Lagoon-A-Beach -- "Definitely the water slides and tube ride! They're the perfect fast and fun way to cool off."

-- Lily Valeika, Layton High

Roy Aquatic Center -- "I liked how there was such a variety of things that you don't see at normal summer water parks, and that it wasn't too expensive! It was $5.50 to get in, and it was well worth it."

-- Nathan Beeston, Syracuse High

2. What different kinds of rides/attractions does this park have?

Cherry Hill -- "It has a lazy river and several swimming pools, but also a giant water slide and you can ride a tube down the 'Cardiac Canyon River Run,' which is another giant water slide designed to look like a canyon."

Seven Peaks -- "Seven Peaks has a wave pool that goes in 15-20 minute intervals. It also has close to 20 slides for park-goers to enjoy. There are also some wading pools and a lazy river."

Lagoon-A-Beach -- "There is a lazy river, kids' zone, two 'lightning' fast water slides known for their breakneck speeds, a lot of tube and single rider slides, and a wild tube ride."

Roy Aquatic Center -- "Roy Aquatic has two water slides; a pool with a low dive, high dive and room to lap swim; a large pool with a playground in the middle, shallow enough to relax in; and a splash area for little kids.

3. What age group or type of person would this park most likely attract?

Cherry Hill -- "It would most likely attract anyone from about 4 years old to high school age."

Seven Peaks -- "It can attract all types of age groups because some attractions are built for the thrill seekers, some for the sunbathers, and those in between."

Lagoon-A-Beach -- "Everyone! There are things like the lazy river for families, and bigger slides for older kids or park-goers."

Roy Aquatic Center -- "People of all ages are always here, kids love it because it has a lot of special features for them, but teenagers and adults love it too because it has things that attract them as well."

4. What makes this water park unique? Any special features, attractions, themes, designs or something else?

Cherry Hill -- "Something unique about this water park is the fact that it's also a campground, so you can sleep over several days and keep visiting. It also has a mini golf course and an arcade if you don't feel like swimming." (Other attractions include a rock wall, kids' "Hamster Haven" playplace, and batting cages.)

Seven Peaks -- "I think all of the water slides are really unique because you can go down them with triple tubes, and be with your friends the whole time. They have easy, simple slides and steep exciting slides that raise your heart to your mouth. There is also a slide called the Boomerang that carries a passenger on a tube up and down a half pipe-shaped slope."

Lagoon-A-Beach -- "It's tiki themed, and the kids' section features a volcano. It's also the only park I know of that has a tube ride that is lifted off the ground."

Roy Aquatic -- "This pool not only has a normal diving board, but also a really fun high-dive, which isn't too common in northern Utah! The two slides are really fun too; one is a curly slide that turns all over, and the other is a speed slide that is both steep and fast."

5. How long would you want to stay at this water park?

Cherry Hill -- "I would stay a few hours, because once you've gone down all the water slides a lot, it can really wipe you out."

Seven Peaks -- "It's a park that you could easily spend a whole afternoon in. I think it would be important to stay as long as possible because the prices are a little high."

Lagoon-A-Beach -- "You could easily stay for 3-4 hours, or the whole day."

Roy Aquatic -- "You could stay here for a few hours, it's a lot of fun."

6. What were the lifeguards like?

Cherry Hill -- "The lifeguards are amazing! They're all super nice and friendly, and sometimes have conversations with you as you wait in line. They were all pretty good with kids, too."

Seven Peaks -- "For the most part the lifeguards don't interact with the patrons, except for the lifeguards that tell you when to go down the slide."

Lagoon-A-Beach -- "They are helpful and friendly throughout the water park. On the tube ride they will splash you or give your tube a spin."

Roy Aquatic -- "The lifeguards were nice and helpful, and some of them even had little microphones so it was easy to hear them!"

7. "Before coming, remember to _______."

Cherry Hill -- "Pack some food. You get hungry after a while."

Seven Peaks -- "Bring sunscreen! There isn't a lot of shade there, so sunscreen is a must!

Lagoon-A-Beach -- "Purchase a tube, don't have glass jars or glass of any kind, and come early to find a good spot in the shade."

Roy Aquatic -- "Find a good group to go with; it's really fun to go with a nice group of friends or family!"

8. What was the water like temperature-wise?

Cherry Hill -- "The water temperature varies per ride. The slides are usually a good temperature, and the pools are always pretty warm."

Lagoon-A-Beach -- "It was pretty cold, almost too cold."

Roy Aquatic -- "I thought the water was just the perfect temperature, cool enough that it felt just right on a hot day!"
