Nelda Barrow Carlos of Ogden will celebrate her 80th birthday. Family and friends are welcome to attend an open house in her honor from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at 5382 S. Shoshone Circle, Ogden.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1933, in Farr West to Edward and Maude Barrow. She married William Carlos on Nov. 2, 1951, in Ogden.
She was married to Bill for 55 years, and they enjoyed archery, bowling and golf until his death in 2006.
She says that during her lifetime, she has been blessed with so many great friends and great health. She maintains a busy lifestyle which includes her companion Geno Waters, her brother Clair Barrow and sister-in-law Barbara Barrow. Together they go golfing, to the movies, to Wendover and play a lot of cards.
Her three daughters and their husbands are Colette Allred and partner Shawn Bostic, Sue and Rick Zampedri, and Nancy and Jack Gridley. “The Girls” and their mother spend a lot of time together and don’t go a day without talking. Her children say they have been blessed to have a mother like Nelda, and they are thankful for her everyday. She also has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
