Do you have a fried chicken recipe to crow about?
This summer has got us thinking about that granddaddy of picnic fare. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, fried chicken has pleased picnickers throughout the ages.
But it seems to have become somewhat of a lost art -- cast aside in favor of that ready-to-eat variety in the familiar red-and white cardboard bucket -- and, let's face it, pressures to eat more healthfully.
We here in the Life section like to preach moderation. We believe an occasional ice cream, a bit of chocolate, a piece of battered chicken are all part of a well-lived life.
So, we're looking for readers to share their fried chicken recipes, as well as any hints or tips in the preparation of said chicken.
Perhaps you have an heirloom recipe or a well-tested original or, if you must, a healthier version.
Please send your killer fried chicken recipes by email to firstname.lastname@example.org with FRIED CHICKEN in the subject line, or mail to Standard-Examiner, Life section, Fried Chicken, P.O. Box 12790, Ogden, UT 84112-2790.
