LAYTON -- An 18-year-old man has been arrested for stabbing a 16-year-old boy several times early Sunday.
Elijah Anthony Sewell was booked into Davis County Jail one count of aggravated assault. He has since been released on $10,000 bail.
Layton Police Sgt. Jeff Roderick said officers were called to a home at 3:26 a.m. Sunday when a group of teenagers reported that one of their friends had been stabbed.
The group had been at a birthday party for a 16-year-old girl, Roderick said. Two teenage girls got into a verbal fight during the party but resolved their issues.
But their boyfriends had not and "got into it," Roderick said.
Around 3 a.m., the homeowner then told all the party-goers to leave.
About 15 minutes later, a group came back with the 16-year-old who had been stabbed. He was taken to Ogden Regional Medical Center for surgery on nonlife-threatening stab wounds.
Officers arrested Sewell later in the day.
Detectives are still investigating the incident, Roderick said, and more charges may be filed.
