LeRoy H. Poll of South Weber celebrated his 90th birthday with family members.
He was born Aug. 2, 1923, to Vern C. and Stella Thompson Poll.
He graduated from Davis High School and served with the Army Air Corps in Europe during World War II. On his return home, he married Venice Slater of Marriott. They will soon celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary.
His 36 years of federal service included the Army Air Corps, transportation officer at Ogden Arsenal and Air Force Pacific Logistics Control Group in Oakland, Calif., retiring as deputy director of distribution at Hill Air Force Base.
Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as bishop, stake patriarch, stake president and temple sealer. He was president of South Weber Town Board and the first mayor of South Weber.
His seven children and spouses are Dee and Sandra Burton, Layton; Gary and Jill Poll, Centerville; LaMar and Doris Gubler, LaVerkin; Craig and Jackie Poll, South Weber; Scott and Peggy Poll, Fruit Heights; Michael and Debby Poll, South Weber; and Tami and Bob (deceased) Williams, West Point. He has 28 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
