WEST JORDAN -- Rocky Mountain Power says 37 power poles have fallen down here.
The poles went down Monday as a powerful storm cell passed across parts of the Salt Lake valley.
Utility spokesman David Eskelsen says he couldn't immediately attribute a cause to the problem but was hearing reports that possible microburst winds brought down the power poles.
The power poles came down along Utah Route 111 in West Jordan and possibly extending into South Jordan.
Eskelsen says about 2,800 customers in the area were without power for nearly an hour until 2:33 p.m. Monday.
