FARMINGTON -- Davis School District is asking for volunteers to get new computers set up and ready by the start of the school year.
Anyone from businesses, civic and church organizations, as well as staff, parents and students ages 10 and older, may help.
No experience is required. To volunteer, go to www.davis.k12.ut.us and click on the link to fill out the survey. A school will contact volunteers when they are needed to help.
Each year, the district receives funds to replace outdated computers with new ones.
David Allart, District Technology Support & Integration Special Projects manager, was asked to help come up with a solution.
"I thought we could combine some of the old with the new. In the old pioneer spirit of this area, where neighbors help each other with a 'barn raising,' we would like to ask our neighbors for help," he said. "The new is that we have created a Web form to gather volunteer contact information and availability. This information will be used to organize the help we need to get school started in a better way."
