NORTH SALT LAKE — Work at Bailey’s Moving & Storage facility was disrupted Tuesday afternoon by a nearby grass fire.

The fire began around 3 p.m. at 400 N. 700 West in an adjacent brush field.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly and prevented it from spreading to the surrounding buildings.

Rather than spectate, several workers responded by moving vehicles and clearing the area.

Justin Anderson, operations manager, used a garden hose to keep the fire from damaging nearby equipment.

“My team reacted well,” Anderson said. “Thankfully nothing was really damaged, and no one was hurt.”

South Davis Metro Fire estimates about 20 acres were burned.
