WEST VALLEY CITY -- Nine Granger High School football players accused of going on a robbery crime spree have been banned from playing this season.
The Deseret News reported Wednesday a juvenile court judge ordered the teens, several of them seniors, to not participate.
All nine have been charged with various felony counts of robbery. Officials said five have pleaded guilty while the others will have court hearings in September.
West Valley Police Sgt. Jason Hauer says the group drove around the city the night of May 3 and randomly assaulted and robbed other teens.
Hauer says there were six victims, including one who was treated for a broken jaw.
A spokesman for the Granite School District said Wednesday no determination has been made about the students' school status.
