TREMONTON -- Two Box Elder County sheriff's deputies have been placed on administrative leave following a domestic dispute, the sheriff's office confirmed Thursday.
Richard Todd Bills and Janea Vandehei were each charged with class B misdemeanor counts of assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child for an incident that occurred June 26, according to Tremonton City Justice Court records.
According to media reports, Bills and Vandehei share a home together, though information about the nature of their relationship wasn't available Thursday.
Box Elder County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Kevin Potter said the sheriff's office wouldn't be releasing details of the case, citing an internal investigation and the fact the incident happened off-duty.
Tremonton City Attorney Dustin Ericson said the North Logan city prosecutor is prosecuting the case. A call to the North Logan city prosecutor's office seeking details of the incident was not returned Thursday.
