Kayla Tingey Nelson, 74, of Mantua, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 8, 2013 with her loving husband by her side. She was born to Lorrin Page and Anna Alvord Tingey on August 27, 1938. She was third of four children. She grew up in Brigham City, UT, graduating from Box Elder High School and Weber State College with a Registered Nursing degree. She worked at Cooley Memorial, Brigham City Community Hospital and Creekside Home Health Care making many dear friends.
She was sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple to her high school sweetheart, Grant Nelson, on September 12, 1958. They started their lives together in Brigham City, later moving to Mantua in November 1978. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many callings over the years. Kayla developed and exercised great faith throughout her life. Surviving are her husband, Grant of 55 years, four children, Douglas (Jill) Nelson, Mantua, UT; Alisa (Jeb) Whitby, Basin City, WA; Analee Rupp, Bear River City, UT; Travis (Sharon) Nelson, Saratoga Springs, UT; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her sister, Maren (Gary) Dixon. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Steve and Ben Tingey.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Mantua 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 237 South Willard Peak Road. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mantua church.
