After courageously fighting cancer for 3 years, Robert V. Parks, 82, was finally reunited with the love of his life his wife, Mona, on Thursday, August 8, 2013. He was born on February 11, 1931 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Ralph A. and Vivian Becker Parks.
Robert married Mona Cobb on June 26, 1951 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 5, 1974.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School, Fresno, California, Bob served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was an electronics technician supervisor in the Missile Division at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1987 after 38 years of service. Since retiring he and Mona enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. He also enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his family whom he dearly loved.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lorin Farr 4th Ward.
Robert is survived by his two daughters, Teri Parks, Roy and Tracy (Dale) Stoker, North Ogden; grandchildren, Amber (Kenyon) Rasmussen, Mallory (Nate) Steele, Logan (Jessica) Stoker and Jace Stoker; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Bridger, and Peighton Rasmussen, Landon, Hailey and Tanner Steele; two brothers, Gaylord (Phyllis) Parks, Placerville, California and Steven (Peggy) Parks, San Diego, California.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mona, and parents.
The family would like to sincerely thank IHC Hospice, specifically, Lance, Michelle, and Launi for the tender, compassionate and dignified way they took care of Bob. We cannot thank you enough.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.
