EUREKA, Calif. -- Deputy U.S. Marshals have arrested alleged sex offender Ryan Mitchell Schaffer, Ogden police say in a statement.
Schaffer, 33, was wanted for three counts of unlawful sexual activity and aggravated kidnapping.
He was apprehended by Marshals and the Eureka Police Department without incident.
On July 3, Schaffer allegedly kidnapped a 14-year-old boy from a FrontRunner station, threatening him with a knife and gun. The boy claimed Schaffer sexually abused him multiple times. Witnesses prompted police to file a warrant for the arrest of Schaffer, who is also a registered sex offender.
After police were unable to locate him in Ogden, the U.S. Marshals Office was brought in to help.
Schaffer will be extradited back to Ogden.
