OGDEN -- A 59-year-old man is facing felony charges for allegedly stabbing another man at a local park.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday in 2nd District Court in Ogden, witnesses told police Irvin Murray Jr. and another man got into an argument Sunday. At some point, the argument escalated, and Murray allegedly stabbed at the other man.
Police arrived and found Murray with a bloody knife, according to the probable cause statement. Murray told police he had "slashed at the victim, not stabbed."
Murray was arrested and booked into Weber County Jail.
He has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, both third-degree felonies.
His initial appearance in court is scheduled for today.
