James From died August 10, 2013 due to an untimely accident. He was born October 20, 1931 in Rawlings, Wyoming to Fred C. and Berneice Irene Martis From. He married the love of his life, Belle Marie Connelly and they had five children; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Starting their life in Puyallup, WA, James worked for Kaiser Aluminum. The family moved to Ogden in 1958 and he became a Custom Meat Cutter working for Oscars Meats, a family owned business. He also worked at Ogden Dress Meats. He later worked for Western Trailer, where he was the General Manager, retiring in 1992.
He and Belle purchased a cabin in Island Park, ID they loved being in those mountains and had many friends there. He loved golfing, playing in tournaments from Southern Utah to Idaho and got a hole in one at Island Park. He also enjoyed boating, his jet skis and snowmobiling. The kids remember the wild rides he would give them. Each summer they would make several trips to Bear Lake in the Shasta trailer. He enjoyed his many adventures traveling in the many motorhomes he owned. He loved dining out and always made friends along the way. He was always willing to help his neighbors.
James was a member of the BPOE and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his children, Jim From Jr (friend, Kathy John) of No. Ogden, Patricia From of Reno, NV, Debora (David) Palmer of Syracuse, UT, Dianna (Danny) Reynolds of Syracuse, UT and Belle Marie (Rory) Van Drimmelen of Riverdale, UT; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Rick Beyer and Tom Connelly and two very dear friends "the girls", Carol and Shelley who he loved and admired greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 47 years, Belle Marie, now "Together Forever"; in-laws, Marv and Cele Wells.
The family would like to thank all his Doctor's, their staff's and his neighbors for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August, 16, 2013 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 15th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
