'Emergency' drill planned Thursday at WSU

OGDEN -- An emergency drill, to involve a simulated shooter situation and the controlled detonation of explosives, is planned for Thursday morning and early afternoon at Weber State University.

The Ogden Police Department and WSU Police Department will host the training exercise, to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday. The controlled detonation of explosives is scheduled for 11 a.m. Students will portray injury victims.

Organizers have said they will publicize the drill through voice and email messages, and over the Internet, in hopes of minimizing undue worry about first-responder vehicles on campus.
