The annual used book sale held by the Friends of the Brigham City Library begins with a special preview sale for members of the Friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19.

Those who join the volunteer association with a $3 donation have the privilege of selecting the best from thousands of books offered for sale. A $6 donation enables the whole family to enter the preview sale. Join the Friends at the library circulation desk before entering the preview sale.

This sale offers discounted prices: $1 for most books and 50 cents for small paperbacks. All of the money earned from the sale of these used books, CDs and magazines goes to public library improvements.

The sale opens to the public on Tuesday, Aug. 20, and continues through Saturday, Sept. 7, during regular library hours (10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays). The library is closed for maintenance on Friday, Aug. 30, and for Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. The sale ends with the $1-a-bag Blowout Sale on Peach Days Saturday, Sept. 7. On that day, the sale begins after the parade ends at noon and runs until 6 p.m. The sale is located in the basement of the library at 26 Forest St. in Brigham City near the historical courthouse.
