CLINTON – Vera Dye Talbot passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at her son’s home in South Ogden.

Mom lived a long and happy life surrounded by those she loved. Mom the eldest daughter of Elva Oretta Stoddard and Jonathan Samuel Dye. Mom was born May 24, 1924 in Uintah, Utah. She grew up a happy child; helping her grandmother pick raspberries and working in the gardens around their home.

Mom loved playing, working and visiting with her cousins and close friends. Mom also loved learning; she graduated from Weber High School and continued her education at Weber State College, where she earned her associates degree. Mom worked at Weber State for many years as a registrar.

Mom was an accomplished seamstress and was known for the beautiful suits and wedding dresses she made; one of the most outstanding was her wedding dress.

Mom met her sweetheart Dale Earl Talbot on a blind date in the summer of 1952. Their first date was a trip to Lagoon where she experienced her first ride on the rollercoaster. (A ride she has never repeated again.) Mom and Dad were married in the Logan LDS Temple on March 4, 1953. They were blessed with three children; Earl John, Diane, and Bruce Dye.Family vacations were important to our parents; we have many wonderful memories of seeing new and exciting places.

Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities; Relief Society, Primary, Ward Librarian and as a Temple Worker in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Mom was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years; her son-in-law, Len Westergard, her parents, two brothers, Merlin and Neil Dye, and two sisters, LaVon Dye and Erma Peterson.

She is survived by Earl and Marygail Talbot of South Ogden, Diane Westergard of Farr West, and Bruce and Evelyn Talbot of South Jordan; ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one brother, Rulon Dye of Uintah.

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in our mother’s great life.
