OGDEN — Police have caught a woman suspected of setting fire to a vacant apartment building.
According to a news release from the Ogden Police Department, Janell Spradling, 27, is believed to have started a Monday morning fire at 2507 D Ave. She was caught with a tip from the public.
Crews responded around 1:30 a.m. Monday to the fire at the vacant duplex and extinguished it in about 20 minutes. Damage was estimated at $25,000.
Spradling admitted to police to setting the fire, according to the release.
She was booked Tuesday into the Weber County Jail. She has been charged in 2nd District Court in Ogden with a first-degree felony count of aggravated arson, according to court documents.
