OGDEN -- The Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden and the Congregational United Church of Christ will offer an extensive, comprehensive course in human sexuality to youths in sixth through ninth grades, on Sunday nights for much of the school year.
Enrollment will be limited to 15 but is open to youths from the community.
Parents of registered youths must attend a mandatory meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden, 705 23rd St.
A $50 donation per family is requested to help cover costs.
The class will use the "Our Whole Lives" curriculum.
The curriculum provides accurate, age-appropriate information in six areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health and society and culture.
Besides providing facts about anatomy and human development, "Our Whole Lives" helps participants clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand spiritual, emotional and social aspects of sexuality.
