Thumbs up: To the Ogden city police, who want the public to let them know how they are doing. Here are links to the Citizen Satisfaction Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PSM53CS and for spanish-speaking, https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BXBBWSH
Thumbs down: To yet another water pipeline replacement project through Ogden Canyon. It's been almost a year of work in the canyon, but a burst line in July makes the latest project, which should start by September, necessary.
Thumbs up: To UDOT, which is giving the public more time to comment on the proposed West Davis Corridor. A spokesman said that UDOT is getting a lot of comments.
Thumbs down: To the lack of personal security on many of our social media pages. A hacker, wanting to make a point, found it easy to hack into Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's personal Facebook page.
Thumbs up: To safety training at Weber State University. WSU, Ogden police, fire and SWAT teams, and local hospitals tested the emergency readiness of the campus during a training session on Aug. 15.
Thumbs down: To the use of chemical weapons by Syria's leaders on their own people. The film of what occurred, as well as the images of the suffering of innocents, underscore the horrors that evil people can inflict on others.
