CLEARFIELD -- Officials say a 13-year-old skateboarder is improving after being pinned underneath a car for about 15 minutes earlier this week.
Clearfield Assistant Police Chief Mike Stenquist said the teen was out of surgery early Thursday morning and was in serious but stable condition.
Police say the boy was skateboarding about 7 p.m. Wednesday when he fell off his board and was hit by a vehicle driven by a 69-year-old woman. The car rolled on top of the boy, and crews took about 15 minutes to get it off of him.
Witnesses say the boy's leg appeared to be folded beneath him and he said it burned, but he was coherent enough to give his name and phone number to rescuers.
He was airlifted to Primary Children's Medical Center.
