BRIGHAM CITY -- A man is sitting in jail after leading police across town when fleeing the scene of a crime.
Trent Ellsworth, 33, was arrested on charges of attempted homicide, DUI injury accident and leaving the scene of an accident.
It began Tuesday morning around 5:15 a.m. after Ellsworth was caught in bed with the wife in the house of his victim, according to Brigham City Lt. Mike Nelson. After an altercation, Ellsworth was kicked out of the house and fumbled toward his vehicle, wearing nothing but a shirt.
He drove forward up the driveway and hit the victim, injuring his legs and hip. He backed up and tried hitting the victim again, but missed. He then drove away.
Police were alerted by neighbors awakened by the shouting and screaming.
Near 250 West and 850 North, Ellsworth hit another car that was stopped at a stop sign. He fled that accident and drove into the home of the driver he had just hit, Nelson said.
Ellsworth got out of his car and fled on foot.
The suspect was later found by police collapsed in a backyard at 500 West and 860 North.
He was still pantless.
Ellsworth was taken to the hospital then booked into Box Elder County Jail.
The victim was also taken to the hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.
