OGDEN -- Weber County Democrat Turner C. Bitton has been selected as an at-large member of the Democratic National Committee's Youth Council.
The Democratic National Committee's Youth Coordinating Council -- commonly known as the Youth Council -- was made an official council of the DNC in December 2005, with a goal of increasing involvement of young people in the party.
Bitton, who has served as Weber County's Democratic Party vice chairman since April 2013, will represent the Western states, Guam and American Samoa on the national committee.
Bitton, current Weber County Democratic Party vice chairman, has served as a member of the county's Democrats' executive committee since his appointment as its party secretary in 2012.
Bitton was confirmed to the national committee by a vote by the DNC on Aug. 23 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
