MORGAN - Charlie Boyce, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday night, August 27.
He was born on June 21, 1930 in Murray, Utah to Perry and Lafern Boyce. Charlie lived his first 31 years in Salt Lake City before moving to Morgan, Utah; a place he truly called home.
Charlie was a mink rancher from the age of 13 and was a mink rancher for 70 years. He started his own ranch in the early 1950's in Salt Lake before moving to Morgan in 1962. He raised many prize winning mink before passing the business to his son.
Charlie had a life-long passion for his horses. He rode for pleasure, roped in the rodeo, and every new horse was sure to be a "winner."
He loved to garden and many people were happy to receive his prized corn.
Charlie married Shirley Borgquist on March 1, 1951. Shirley died in October 2000. He married Dwan Worrall on March 30, 2002.
Charlie is survived by his wife Dwan, his children: Shauna (Brent) VanZomeren, Salt Lake City, Sharlie Boyce, Morgan, Susan (Mike) Midgley, Morgan, Bryan (Lynn) Boyce, Morgan, Elon (Scott)Jensen, Ogden, Linda (John) Davidson, Maryland. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters: Leah Hilton, Lynn (Fred) Cutler, and Marilyn (Doug) Ovard.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; brother, Richard; and son Kris Worrall.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 12 noon at the Morgan Rock Church, 10 West Young Street. Friends may visit with family Friday, August 30, at Walker Mortuary, 45 West 200 North, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
The family would like to thank Ryan and Teresa and the people of Gentiva Hospice.
Interment will be at South Morgan Cemetery.
