In a brutal fight in Indianapolis, former Layton High School wrestler Court McGee picked up a big UFC win, defeating Robert Whittaker via a split decision after three rounds.

In Indianapolis, at UFC Fight Night 27, 170-pound welterweight McGee, 16-3, stalked Whittaker, 11-3, over three rounds, enduring standing elbow shots and left hooks while landing punishing blows of his own. McGee likely wrapped up the win late in the bout, punishing Whittaker over the last 90 seconds of round 3. The scores were 30-27 and 29-28 McGee, and 30-27 Whittaker.

In the five-round main event, welterweight Carlos Condit punished Martin Kampmann, stopping him due to strikes early in round four.
