OGDEN -- The state Administrative Office of the Courts is sponsoring the screening of the documentary "Last Will and Embezzlement" next week here.
The documentary is about the financial exploitation of vulnerable adults and covers first-hand accounts from victims as well as interviews with experts who discuss potential solutions to what is a growing problem, said Nancy Volmer, state courts spokeswoman.
It will air at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Pleasant Valley Branch of the Weber County library system, 5568 South 500 East.
A panel discussion will follow with representatives from state Adult Protective Services, the Ogden Police Department, and the state courts. For more information call Karolina Abuzyarova at 801-578-3925, or view www.utcourts.gov/visitor.
The presentation is part of the AOC's Court Visitor Volunteer Program. Established by the Utah Judicial Council in 2011 with a grant from the State Justice Institute, the goal is to protect vulnerable adults from abuse, exploitation, neglect, and self-neglect.
