CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The game between BYU and Virginia to be delayed at the end of the first quarter Saturday because of the threat of severe weather.
Fans were asked to leave the stadium and take shelter in their vehicles or nearby buildings.
The public address announcer said a lightning warning mandated the clearing of the stadium. Atlantic Coast Conference policy holds that a stadium must be cleared and play suspended when lightning is within 6 miles of a venue.
