MAGNA -- A Syracuse man was killed Sunday morning when the vehicle he was driving rolled.
The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Interstate 80 near Saltair Drive, the Utah Highway Patrol said.
A silver Toyota was being driven eastbound when it veered into the median and rolled several times, ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, a UHP news release said.
The driver was identified as David Mecham, 52, of Syracuse.
Mecham's wife, Michelle Mecham, 51, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Intermountain Medical Center by ambulance with injuries that were not life-threatening, UHP said.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as contributing to the crash. Investigators believe the driver fell asleep.
