SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Highway Patrol says a 19-year-old woman is dead and a man in critical condition after a car they were in hit a retaining wall on Interstate 215.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the car swerved and hit the wall on Sunday night on I-215 in Salt Lake City.
The 19-year-old Francine Martinez, who was in the passenger seat, died at a nearby hospital. The driver, 20-year-old Charlie Diep, is in critical condition.
Two small children were in the car as well. They were taken to the hospital but released shortly after.
Highway Patrol says Diep is the father of the children. It's unknown if Martinez is related.
The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
